Dr. Erick Jones, Ph.D.has been elected as the President of IISB (ISCEA International Standards Board)
Cleveland, Ohio, USA – On April 27, 2020 ISCEA announced that Dr. Erick C. Jones Sr., PhD.,as President effective July 1, 2020.Dr. Jones will be inaugurated during the fall 2020 IISB Board of Directors Meeting.
2020-2025 President-Elect Dr. Erick C. Jones Sr., PhD., CSSMBB, has been the Chair of IISB Technology Committee and on the IISB Board of Directors since 2005. Dr. Jones is the George and Elizabeth Pickett Endowed Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) at the University of Texas Arlington (UTA) and is the Associate Dean of Graduate Affairs in the College of Engineering.Hehas also served as a Program Director in the Engineering Directorate for Engineering Research Center Programs at the National Science Foundation.
Dr. Jones has been involved in Certification, Accreditation and Innovation of Supply Chain Technology education for over 17 years. In addition to his strong academic background, hebrings great industry experiences, rangingfrom engineering to executive positions.In those capacities he utilized modern ERP software, leading-edge AI technologies, and redesigned Supply Chains for fortune 500 companies.
In the quality world, Dr. Jones has been coined by other ISCEA Fellows as the next"Deming," due to his pioneering efforts at ISCEA in the Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt empowerment revolution. He used his in-depth knowledge and research in Quality Management,Lean and Six Sigma to re-envision the Yellow Belt by stripping the ideas of continuous improvement to basics,resulting in the ISCEA CLSSYB certification. This 1 day intense session has revolutionized the Quality and Lean Six Sigma world. In 2005, ISCEA became the first organization to offer CLSSYB certification.
In Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) world, Dr. Jones is considered a pioneer with automated data capture in supply chain logistics through his work with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies. Dr. Jones started working with RFID in the early stages when most people did not know the meaning of the acronym and was prohibitively expensive. His research included activities involving RFID enable sponges inside the body during surgeries, vehicle toll tags, and integration within cloth and linens. His research was also used by NASA ISS that launched in 2009.
